Toki Poutangata

Carved from New Zealand Pounamu, Native Pohutukawa and a Basalt base.

Attached by a thick waxed cord, adorned with feathers and using a recycled metal rod with a Pounamu key to hold it in place.

It can be lifted off the base and held at the owners desire.

The handle comes from a tree that Nick as a child spent many years of his life walking past and playing under, located on Waiheke Island next to his Fathers property. A storm took down some large branches from the tree and before it could become firewood Nick saved it for carving. Later producing this product.

Carved with hand tools just as it had been hundreds and thousands of years before.

Size: It stands 275mm (10.8 Inches) tall.
